If I Can’t Swim After 40 Days…

Forget the Missouri Waltz: the Missouri state song is really Jars of Clay’s “Flood.”

Rain, rain on my face

Hasn’t stopped raining for days

My world is a flood

Slowly I become one with the mud

These lyrics have never rung quite so true as they have the past couple of weeks. It’s been raining here, and hard, and it hasn’t stopped. Over 250 roads have been closed due to flooding, slowing forming a Missouri island of sorts.  Our local news has some viewer-submitted photos of some of the damage, but these before and afters will have more of an impact for those less familiar with southern Missouri.

Basically, it’s bad guys.

I came home to be productive in the light of all this business, and for the second day in a row, I ended up watching Jayda InStitches’ channel for hours. I couldn’t stop myself and now all I want to do is make hats! Gloves! SO MANY BLANKETS! I still haven’t finished my first and I’m already planning three more. I think I might need help. And it all started just because I was trying to find out if Kubo and the Two Strings was on Netflix (it is). It could be worse, I guess I could’ve wasted that time on Facebook embroiled in drama instead of bettering my craft self. So there’s that.
